Who we are:
The team consists of two part-time teachers whose skills greatly complement each other. Both have extensive experience of teaching in mainstream provision as well as specialist facilities.
They are supported by two teaching assistants, one of whom is qualified as an intervener and highly experienced at working with pupils with complex needs. There are also two personal care assistants who join the team to ensure the pupils' personal needs are met through their daily management programmes. All staff are trained in basic first aid, Moving and Handling, Gastrostomy and a variety of medical conditions (epilepsy / VNS / Diabeties).
We are well supported by volunteers who support our class on a regular basis.
Our colleagues from Health are a specialist nursing team, and teams from Speech and Language Therapy, Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy, Visual Impared,Hearing Impared(VI / HI).
Many of our students have the opportunity to be part of the MOVE programme which involve personised bespoke plans for a wide variety of physical opportunities.
