Each student follows their own timetable, the content of which is adapted to each student's abilities, interests and learning style. The approach we adopt is highly structured with a strong daily routine. This familiarity and predictability reduces anxiety and maximises learning opportunities for our students.

A typical day would be as described in the timetable below. Morning sessions are common, with variations on the post lunch activities.

Circle time - talk through daily schedule Literacy - working on reading, typing on computer and comprehension tasks Bay work - working through tasks using the TEACCH system to develop independent work skills Break Numeracy - working on skills such as addition and subtraction, shape recognition, understanding time and days of the week Lunch Art - working on creative projects - seasonal pictures, making masks & using modeling materials PSHCE - understanding 'my body' and how to use personal care equipment Whole department assembly

Springwater is a vibrant and progressive day school catering for students ranging from two to nineteen years. Offering places to students who may have profound and multiple, severe or physical difficulties, the majority of our current students have co-existing or multiple needs. We also cater for students with autistic spectrum condition and elements of challenging behaviour.
